ARC Career Day – the path from education to your dream career
ARC Academy’s mission is to bridge education and careers for young people who want to realize themselves professionally in the game industry. Therefore, we strive to build and maintain the connection between our students and the real business in various ways – visits to partner studios, lectures led by professionals, special career events, etc.
What is ARC Career Day?
During ARC Career Day, we bring together all current and alumni students of the Academy on our campus to meet with representatives from our creative partner teams to learn more about the recruitment process and what are the open positions with them.
How was the event?
For our students, we organized three useful lectures, which were given by the teams of the studios that visited us:
- “How to create your best illustration portfolio” – Zhana Miteva, Recruitment Manager at Chibi Phoenix
- “Prepping like a champ – building a CV and getting ready for interviews” – Nikolay Stoyanov, Recruitment Specialist at Creative Assembly
- “What is it like to be a freelancer and how can I ace the admin and accounting game as a freelancer in Bulgaria?” – Panayot Hristov and Velislav Todorov, Founders of Freelancer-bg.com
Company representatives gave more details on what a CV, portfolio and cover letter should look like, how big companies select their employees, how to prepare for a job interview and the advantages of being a freelancer from an administrative point of view.
The lectures were thorough and informative and the students showed great interest and actively participated, asking lots of questions. After each one, they had the opportunity to meet and talk with representatives of the studios.
Creative Assembly, Snapshot Games, Chibi Phoenix, EGT Digital, Chase A Cloud, Evolution and Freelancer-bg.com took part in the event. The interest from both sides was great!
