PROFESIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Svetlin has 14 years of experience in the VFX industry. Over the years, he mainly worked for the WWFX NuBoyana studio, but for two years he was also part of the BUFO studio. He worked on many projects as a freelancer – “Beethoven’s Christmas Adventure” (2011), as well as for the art departments of various Bulgarian and foreign productions. For example, “Glass House” (2010), “The Way Back” (2010).
He entered the world of visual effects in 2007 after successfully completing a three-month course at WWFX NuBoyana. Over the years, he had the opportunity to grow from the lowest position (junior animator) to Head of Department (2014-2018, 2021). The main tasks he has been involved with over the years, in one form or another, have been Modeling, Texturing, and Onion Development. He has a bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy of Fine Arts – Painting at Veliko Tarnovo University “St. Cyril and Methodius” (2005). He currently works for DNEG Bulgaria. The position he holds is Senior Environment Modeling Artist.
His main hobby is fishing, unfortunately, he has less time for gaming these days. He has recently begun collecting gramophone records. He loves motorsports, especially Formula 1, which he has followed with more or less interest since 1992. As a person who has been actively involved in fine art for almost 15 years, he also likes to visit exhibitions. Like any normal person, he also likes to travel a lot, and this is the most relaxing thing for him.
The projects he is proud of are: “The Way Back” (2010), Automata (2014), London Has Fallen (2016), and The Hitman’s Bodyguard (2017).
