Mario Metushev, a student at ARC Academy – for wanting to upgrade your skills
Mario Metushev is a second-year Concept Art student at ARC Academy. He is ambitious, eager to develop his skills and since this year has been working as a Junior 2D Designer at EGT Digital. If you want to know more about his successes, read the interview.
Which ARC Academy program are you in?
I am currently in my second year of the Concept Art program. I am mainly interested in 2D art and animation.
What are you currently working for – in which company and in what position?
Earlier this year I started working at EGT Digital as a Junior 2D Designer.
What do your job duties involve?
Working at a Slot Game company is very interesting and varied, there are always new projects coming out to work on, which gives me a new perspective on the gaming industry. My work duties mainly involve making assets for the game UI such as icons, buttons and backgrounds. My team is super talented and fun and that makes the work environment very enjoyable.
What projects are you/have you worked on so far?
I’m currently working on a few bigger projects that are taking up the most time and effort, and I’m happy to say they’ll be seeing the light of day soon. Meanwhile, they also deal with seasonal promotions for numerous betting sites. Also, at ARC we are about to create our own game and I am currently focusing on developing my skills in other areas such as 3D and Unreal Engine.
What was your favorite part of your time at ARC Academy?
My favorite part so far is the social work environment that all the students are placed in. When I see that someone is doing better than me in a certain area, I strive to improve my skills and compete with them. This helps us all to constantly upgrade.
How did studying at ARC Academy help you get started in the studio?
Things worked out really well for me because I took part in an EGT Digital internship competition provided by the Academy and won. ARC Academy often provides us with industry development opportunities, but it is up to each individual to make the effort to take advantage of them.
