Open Doors at ARC Academy – education as part of the path to a career in the game industry
On January 27, we welcomed young people interested in gaming education and their parents to our campus.
The event was opened by the co-founder of ARC Academy – Milin Djalaliev, who spoke about the Academy’s mission to educate and develop young talents who are realized in the creative industries. He also mentioned our partners, who are leading game companies on the market.
Krasimira Manashfi, program manager at ARC, presented the Early Admission and Preliminary course for the academic year 2024/2025. Every prospective student submitting documents by March 31 will participate in its third edition. It will allow them to familiarize themselves with the basic concepts and skills, to consolidate their knowledge, which they need for easier adaptation to the learning process.
Several lecture slots were held throughout the day to provide more information about our programs.
In the first slot, the director of the Game Programming specialty, Nikolay Dimitrov, talked about what it is like to work as a programmer in a game studio and what are the trends in the use of different programming languages in game development. He then presented the structure of the program, the subjects and the skills students will acquire upon completion.
ВIn the second and third slots, Borislav Bogdanov, program director of Game Design, Concept Art and 3D Art programs, shared more information about the disciplines that are studied during the studies, about the projects that are being developed, the application requirements and what the career opportunities are.
After the official part, the visitors had the opportunity to meet the students and lecturers from ARC, as well as to ask them their questions. They toured the classrooms and finally played the Mesozoic Mayhem and Actia games created by Graduation 2022/2023.
With the opening of the January Open Doors, our first joint competition of the year with Chibi Phoenix has also started. They provide 4 partial scholarships to study in the Game Design, Game Programming, Concept Art and 3D Art programs.
