Polina Vucheva, about the training at ARC Academy and internship at Chibi Phoenix
Polina Vucheva is a current student at ARC Academy in the Concept Art program. With his talent and hard work, he managed to earn an internship position at the Chibi Phoenix studio, and then become a Character artist. Find out what’s next for Polly from our interview with her.
Which program do you study at ARC Academy?
I am starting my second year of studying in the Concept Art program at ARC Academy.
What are you currently working for – in which company and in what position?
I had the opportunity with the start of my studies at the academy to parallel start an internship at the studio, which secured my partial scholarship – Chibi Phoenix. I was an intern for 6 months, then continued there as a Character artist for another 6 months.
What do your job duties involve?
My job duties mainly involved illustrating game characters, as well as working as a team with art directors and other departments.
What projects are you working on so far?
I am currently focused on personal projects and portfolio development, as well as acquiring new knowledge in 2D, 3D and Unreal Engine. My main focus is the upcoming second year at ARC. I am very excited about the development of a full video game and would like to take an active part in this project.
What was your favorite part of your time at ARC Academy?
My favorite part of studying at ARC Academy is working together with my super-talented colleagues and the chance to learn from professionals I admire.
How did studying at ARC Academy help you get started in the studio?
I was able to gain valuable experience at a game studio thanks to the Academy’s efforts to provide direct relationships between students and the industry from day one.
