Stella Nikolova, a student at ARC Academy – about inspiration and art in her life
Stella Nikolova is a Concept Art student at ARC Academy, as well as a participant in last year’s Preliminary Course. Art has always been a part of her life, sharing that she has been drawing for as long as she can remember. Find out more about her path to creativity and the Academy in the interview.
What inspires you and how did you get into the creative field?
I am mostly inspired by movies and books, the world around me, as well as nature and people, they have always been the main participants in my projects. Ever since I was a child, I had a great imagination and a desire to develop in the creative field.
How did you find ARC Academy and why did you decide to apply?
I came across the ARC Academy through a YouTube video in which a Bulgarian illustrator talked about the Academy and its work. I decided to apply because I think ARC Academy is a different place where I will have the opportunity to develop my potential as an artist and learn from people working in the industry.
What skills did you acquire in the Preliminary Course and did it help you adapt to the Academy?
In the Preliminary course, I had the opportunity to meet some of the lecturers and find out what the teaching method is and what to expect in the future. The lectures were enjoyable and extremely helpful in introducing a prospective student to the Academy.
What are your impressions of the training so far?
For the time being, my impression of studying at ARC Academy is that the environment here strives to help you as much as possible to develop. The lecturers are people with great experience and desire, ready to guide you on the path of your realization.
How do you dream of developing in the industry?
I think I’m still looking for my specific path in the industry because I’m a curious person and I have an interest in many things, but I’m sure that through the learning stages, I’ll discover where my strongest point is.
What advice would you give to someone wondering whether to apply to the Academy?
I would advise anyone hesitant to apply to give it a try because ARC Academy is a place where you can learn a lot and build yourself.
