Verica Tenekedjieva

Animator

Verica Tenekedjieva is an animator from North Macedonia who graduated in Animation from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts “Krastyo Sarafov” in Sofia in 2022. During her studies, she took part in the creation of the film Theatrical Novel(ce) – a 2021 hybrid short film directed by Teodora-Kosara Popova. The film combines animation and live action in a postmodern style and has received recognition at festivals in Bulgaria and abroad.

She has worked as an animator in companies in both Bulgaria and North Macedonia, including The World of Bibi – a North Macedonian children’s TV series about the adventures of Bibi and her friends. She has also worked at Ucha.se, where she created educational animations.

She is also the author of Wish – a short animated film about a boy with disabilities who dreams of becoming an astronaut.

In addition to films, she has created animations for the music album SEWER PARTY by Bulgarian musician Chervensky.

At present, she works as a freelancer and is developing her own original film Transporting Women.
