Тhe Program

The Visual Arts major is designed for those who want to develop their skills in digital, visual and multimedia arts, and turn them into a professional career. The course focuses on the whole process of realising an artistic project – the idea, the visual communication with the audience, the story and concept, the research and creative iterations, the creation of a 2D project, its subsequent realisation in a 3D or multimedia environment.

Through hands-on focused learning, real-world project work and mentorship from professionals, students build confidence, creativity and a strong portfolio to prepare them for careers in the creative industries.

Training takes place on-site at our campus, with classes primarily in the evenings and weekends to suit anyone with a busy schedule.

Visual Arts

Visual Arts centers on the creative process, from storyboarding and building characters and worlds to developing interactive projects and multimedia experiences. This field covers disciplines like digital drawing, 3D modeling, animation, visual storytelling and experience design.

Visual artists blend creativity and technology to produce striking visual concepts and products that engage and inspire.

Approach

The on-campus programs are designed for motivated individuals who want to immerse themselves in a creative environment and grow through intensive, hands-on projects and teamwork. They are suitable for both beginners and those with some prior experience looking for career-oriented training.

Format: Classes take place in person at ARC’s campus in Sofia, within a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere.

Schedule: 8–10 hours per week of lectures and practical exercises, plus around 10 hours of independent work on assignments and projects.

Support: Direct mentorship from industry professionals, regular feedback, and access to an active community of students, alumni, and experts.

Skills

During the training you will deepen and improve your skills in drawing, 3D modeling and working with a variety of specialized software. The process includes mastering new tools, techniques and approaches.

You will learn to:

  • You work with software used in the creative industries to express your ideas and present the stories and concepts that excite you

Curriculum

The Visual Arts is a two-year program divided into 4 semesters. The course will take you through skills and techniques that will enable you to express your visual ideas and concepts in an impactful and fulfilling way.

First semester

The first semester introduces students to the basics of Visual Arts by encapsulating key topics and building a stable foundation of knowledge and skills:The first semester introduces students to the fundamentals of visual art, covering key topics and building a solid knowledge base that is the foundation for building artistic skills.

In the second semester, students deepen their knowledge and become familiar with the technical aspects of visual art by trying out new methods techniques, techniques and software to apply them to their ideas.

Third semester

The third semester focuses on multimedia and interactive design. The students begin to develop complex projects by combining everything learned up to this point. Fourth Semester

The training ends with a practical phase in which students apply what they have learned by working on real or original projects. This is the moment when ideas come to life and the knowledge gained is transformed into finished visual works.
