  • Level Beginner
  • Language English
  • Format Online
  • Tuition fee € 1 500 (or in installments)

The Program

The Foundations in 3D Modeling program is your gateway into the world of 3D — a place where ideas take shape and shapes grow into entire digital worlds.

You will learn how digital objects are created, how 3D space functions, and which principles make a model convincing and professionally executed. Designed for complete beginners, the program helps you step confidently into 3D and develop skills you can later apply in game development, animation, VR/AR, advertising, product and interior design, architecture, and even education.

For Whom

We believe that anyone with curiosity for 3D art and a desire to experiment can create their first model. You don’t need drawing skills or previous experience with 3D tools to join.
This program is for you if you:

  • want to take your first steps into 3D and understand how a digital object is built from the ground up;
  • are looking for a structured introduction before committing to a more specialized 3D track;
  • prefer a practical, hands-on approach with a mentor to guide you through the process;
  • want to explore whether 3D is the right creative direction for you.

Skills

  • Working with 3D software

    Navigate and model objects in Blender.

  • Creating 3D models

    Build forms and volumes using essential modeling techniques.

  • Sculpting

    Shape clean, readable, animation-ready or render-ready models.

  • Preparing final models

    Rendering and final adjustments for polished presentation.

Education

The classes combine theoretical preparation with practical application through projects and assignments. Instructors provide guidance, recommendations, and personalized advice to help participants grow their skills. They support students in building a portfolio and becoming confident in working with software and producing authentic artwork.

Schedule: 90 hours in total, over 5 months, with sessions twice a week (once on a weekday and once during the weekend). Note: depending on the season or holidays, some weeks may include three sessions.

Format: A mix of live online lectures, hands-on assignments, personal feedback, and access to lesson recordings.

Support: Personalized feedback from mentors. Additionally, participants have access to a dedicated Discord group where they can ask questions, share progress, and discuss ideas with peers.

Self-study: 2–4 hours per week to ensure steady progress. The 2 hours represent the minimum recommended time; participants are encouraged to dedicate additional time as needed based on individual pace and project requirements.

Curriculum

You will build your 3D foundations through two consecutive modules.
Each module includes essential topics and exercises preparing you for your final model. Using Blender — one of the most accessible and widely used 3D modeling tools — you will learn to create basic shapes, sculpt details, work with transformations, and prepare models for texturing and rendering.

Module 1: Foundations in 3D Modeling

In this module, participants will explore the fundamentals of 3D space — how shapes are constructed, what topology is, and why it matters for high-quality models. You will learn core modeling tools and understand how volume, proportions, and silhouette influence the clarity and appeal of a 3D object. Through hands-on practice, you will gain confidence working with primitives, transformations, and early structural forms. The goal is to establish a solid technical and visual foundation for the next module.

  • Intro to Blender and 3D space
  • Hard-surface modeling
  • Organic forms and sculpting
  • Color Theory and Lighting
  • Character modeling foundations
  • Scene building and environment modeling

Module 2: Texturing, Lighting & Rendering

In this module, participants will apply everything learned so far by creating a complete 3D model step by step. You will refine shapes, manage edge flow, and optimize topology to ensure a clean and well-structured model. You’ll also gain essential skills in UV unwrapping and preparing models for presentation. The module focuses on practical techniques that help you understand the full 3D pipeline — from the first shape to the final rendered project.

  • UV unwrapping and texturing
  • Light and shadow
  • Rendering and compositing
  • Rigging and animation basics
  • Final portfolio project

Continue your education at ARC Academy

In addition to helping you prepare yourself and your personal portfolio project, the Foundation in 3D Modeling program gives you the opportunity to apply for the Game Art (online) or 3D Art (on-campus) specializations at ARC Academy.

Upon completion of the Foundations in Digital Arts program, mentors share their overall impressions of participants’ progress and portfolio level. Based on this evaluation, graduates may receive a recommendation for direct access to ARC Academy’s specialized programs, without the need to complete an additional formal admission assignment.

Although the admission task is not mandatory for Preliminary graduates, it is offered as an optional exercise. Many students choose to complete it to practice their skills, assess their progress, and gain additional confidence before entering a specialized track.

Mentors

The program is led by professionals who enthusiastically share their knowledge and experience with you. The training is interactive and focused on practical work and mentors who monitor your development and provide personal feedback.
