For Concept Art is Photoshop CS, for 3D Art – Blender and Zbrush, Game Design – Unreal Engine, VFX & Animation – Nuke and Maya. In Computer Science -the programming languages – Java, Spring, Javascript, React, Docker and others.

For the core programs, finished 10th class (Bulgarian educational system) is required. What we can offer as content for a younger audience is the online course “How to Become a Game Developer”. It is suitable for younger participants who would like to learn more about the different roles and processes in the game development.

Studying at ARC Academy requires four semesters of dedicated work and the fee is: 

2,400 euros per semester (VAT included) for EU Students
3,400 euros per semester (VAT included) for Non-EU Students
350 euros one-time admission fee

The education continues for two years (4 semesters). The students who complete our academic programs will receive certificates for acquired skills, signed and stamped by our corporate partners. ARC Academy is part of a professional development center.

There are between 4 and 5 classes per week, taking place out of office hours as well as during the weekend.

Depending on the program you are applying for, the required portfolio is different:

Concept Art: Show us how your imagination and conceptual thinking work by drawing how you imagine one of the characters in the game looks or what the environment is like.

3D Art: Imagine what your character or the environment in your game would look like. Show it. Do not limit yourself to illustrations. If you can, make a 3D model in a software. You can also use clay, paper or whatever you decide will best present your idea.

Game Design: Develop a game concept. What we expect is: a description of the main character and the story of the game (maximum ½ page); two or more game mechanics – what your character can do (run, jump, fly and anything else you can think of); list of elements of the game: objects, opponents, weapons, etc. (maximum 1 page); conditions for winning and losing in the game (maximum 1 page).

VFX & Animation: Create a short traditional or digital animation of the character with different movements. IR can be on paper or digitally depicted, 3D, stop motion or some other type. You can send us the final result in the form of a storyboard, gif, or video format.

Computer Science: The application consists of three stages – CV, solving a short practical task and participation in three lectures. The lectures will be held twice – in June and September. They will give you the opportunity to get acquainted with the teaching process, and we can choose the candidates who have the necessary basic knowledge and motivation.
