Computer Science – a new program at ARC Academy

Since the launch of the Academy in 2019 until now, our goal has always been to provide quality and innovative education that follows the trends in the creative and game industries. We strive to be the arch between young talent and business, and the fact that over 85% of graduates are realized in these areas, gives us confidence that we are on the right track.

Led by the desire to provide new opportunities for the development of young people in our country, in the next school year, we are expanding the scope of training at the Academy by adding a new program – Computer Science.

It was developed by Filip Yankov – a specialist with over 15 years of experience in various roles in the technology industry – Principal engineer, ML engineer, Team lead, Product Manager, Director, CTO, and others. – in companies such as SAP, Microsoft, VMware, Chobolabs (bought from Game Closure), Toptal, and others. Our partners are some of the largest game and IT companies in Bulgaria such as Gameloft Bulgaria, Creative Assembly, Snapshot Games, and others.

The program helps students to enrich their knowledge in the field of programming, mathematics, and software engineering and introduces them to the development of video games and other software.

Computer Science is a two-year, in-person, and entirely practical program. It starts with an introductory part in which students have the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge of software development. Then, based on their skills and interests, everyone specializes in one of the two directions: Game Development or Cloud Computing.

During their studies, students will use different programming languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, C ++, C #, and others. They will work with game engines Unity and Unreal. They will be able to create and implement AI systems, scripts, and algorithms for video games and other software. They will embark on game development in multidisciplinary teams with game designers and artists.

They will be supported by their teachers and mentors, who are proven professionals in the IT and game industry in our country.

Successful graduates of the program will be able to begin their careers as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Gameplay Programmer, and others.

The program is extremely suitable for high school graduates with a degree in computer science, mathematics, programming, or IT. In it, they will upgrade their knowledge and skills and will be able to start working in the game and IT industries.
