Young creators at ARC: Inspiration, skills and new opportunities

How do young creators develop their skills and what opportunities open up when they decide to build on their knowledge? The journey begins with curiosity, a willingness to experiment and an eagerness to learn new things.

ARC Academy’s Foundation Programs are designed for beginners who want to take their first steps in the creative field and develop practical skills. The four programs – Digital Arts, Game Art & Design, 2D Animation and 3D Modeling – offer 5 months of online learning with no prior experience required. Through a structured curriculum, hands-on work with professional software and feedback from mentors, participants build a strong foundation for their creative development.

But what motivates them to grow, which skills do they want to acquire and how do they envision their future as creators? Meet four participants who share their experiences and plans for the future.

Tell us a little about yourself

Katerina: From a very young age, I’ve loved drawing. I’ve set clear goals for my future and together with my passion for art, they motivate me to keep moving forward.

Evgeni: My name is Evgeni Stankulov. I’m 18 years old and currently studying Foundations in 2D Animation at ARC Academy. What motivates me to keep moving forward is the constantly evolving world around us and that inner curiosity – “What else can I create?”

Mihaela: I’d describe myself as a very determined and motivated person. What drives me forward isn’t so much momentary inspiration, but constant motivation and the desire to grow and improve every day.

Vladimir: My name is Vladimir Ivanov. I’m 17 years old and I’m currently enrolled in the Foundations in 2D Animation program at ARC Academy. What motivates me is the feeling of progress and my desire to create and bring my ideas to life.

Which skill would you like to develop in ARC’s program and why?

Katerina: I would especially like to develop my digital art skills. On one hand, it’s something relatively new to me, since before joining the program, I mainly worked with traditional techniques. On the other hand, knowledge in the field of digital arts is extremely valuable and essential for anyone pursuing art nowadays.

Evgeni: The skill I want to develop at ARC is a stronger sense of movement and understanding how animation can achieve it in the fastest yet most impactful way. Animation gives me freedom and endless possibilities, and I want to learn how to use them to communicate ideas and emotions through my work.

Mihaela: I’m focusing on improving my anatomy skills and color work, since I know I still have room to grow in those areas. I believe mastering them will help me create a stronger portfolio.

Vladimir: The skill I most want to develop during the program is my sense of timing. As one of the fundamental principles of animation, it will help me make my work much more realistic and aesthetically appealing.

How do you see your future development as an artist?

Katerina: After high school, I plan to keep pursuing art in its many forms. My main goal is to work in a field that brings me the greatest joy – creating.

Evgeni: I imagine my creative growth as something very multifaceted. I definitely don’t see myself focusing on just one thing. I strive to experiment and gain experience across different art fields because they all influence one another and can be combined. That’s how I discover more ways to express myself.

Mihaela: I’d like my creative future to be connected to a position in the game industry, where I can showcase my experience and continue to grow.

Vladimir: I see myself as an artist who has built a strong foundation of diverse skills that will help me find a professional career in the industry. This will allow me to create and realize my ideas faster and to a higher standard.

We’re excited to follow our participants’ progress and can’t wait to see where their creative journeys take them! We’re also looking forward to meeting the next curious young creators.
