Application for ARC Academy is open until September 15th
At ARC Academy, we strive to provide our students with high-quality education that aligns with the fast-paced developments in the creative industries. The Academy offers an alternative to traditional university education. Our programs have a duration of two years, rather than four, and are entirely focused on practical knowledge and skills that students need to work in gaming studios both in our country and abroad.
Upon completing their studies in one of our programs, Game Design, Concept Art, 3D Art, or VFX & Animation, each student receives a Professional certificate and document from the Ministry of Education in Bulgaria, recognized by the industry. Starting from this academic year, we have also introduced a Game Programming program, where students will learn C++ and Unreal Engine.
All our lecturers work in the industry and are familiar with its requirements. In addition to individual practical assignments that students receive, in the final semester, they collaborate on the development of a video game, with each student having a role based on their specialization.
The different stages of game development are presented to juries consisting of instructors who are also studio managers at some of the largest gaming studios in our country, such as Gameloft Sofia, Creative Assembly Sofia, Snapshot Games, and others.
“The situations we put the students in, especially during the development of their projects, are exactly the situations they will encounter in their work at the studios,” says Borislav Bogdanov, Art Director at Snapshot Games and Program Director at ARC Academy.
“Many of the students at ARC are well-prepared to start working in studios,” believes Georgi Dinchev, Studio Director at Creative Assembly Sofia, a studio with a team of over 200 people in Bulgaria, under the umbrella of SEGA.
