Kiro Kuskovski – Game Dev (Fundamentals)

Kiro Ruskovski is part of the Game Dev (Fundamentals) program at ARC Academy. Since his elementary education he has been in a specialized class with applied arts in Troyan. He tells us that he had difficulties in the learning process because he was а hyperactivechild. After high school he graduated from the Art academy in Sofia, and his dream was always to do sculpture.  He is a fan of fantasy novels such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. He  discovered that you can enter this magical world through 3D modelling and game design.

Kiro loves to create in natural environments and has even modelled a lion’s head out of a rock in the sea. Find out where an artist like him gets his inspiration from in this interview:

Тell us more about yourself. What do you like to do, what are your hobbies and interests?

Hi, my name is Kiro Ruskovski. I am a first year student at ARC Academy. I graduated from the School of applied arts Prof. Venko Kolev, City of Troyan, then Ceramics and Sculpture at the Art Academy, Sofia. My big dream was to study and do sculpture. I really like cinema and especially movies like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. We can be in their world and magic with 3D modeling and game design. I like jokes, having fun, music, playing computer games and making images and altering photos with Photoshop. I love volunteering and getting involved in different projects. I’m a fan of “Take me to the village” and meet cool people and make great friends every summer.

How did you come across ARC Academy?

I heard about ARC Academy from an interview on a radio show and applied. I decided that 3D would work for me because it looks like modeling and technology. Computers are the future. I have a small studio and I like to draw pictures and make ceramics and small sculptures.Horses and the animal world are my favorite subjects.

In my training so far I like Live drawing, Composition Anatomy, 3D art/modeling the most. I like the atmosphere, the organization in the Academy, the access to each lesson and the support of the teachers and team. I feel perfect!

What inspires you to create?

I find inspiration from music, nature, animals and freedom. I love making and giving my creations to friends and loved ones. Sometimes inspiration comes to me to model in a natural environment, such as decorating natural objects as an image. Last time I made a lion’s head out of a rock on the sea.

What do you think is the most important quality an artist should have?

The most important is to be an Artist, to be free to create and sing while working. It is also important to be organized, to have goals.

What are the biggest challenges you have faced so far in your training at ARC Academy?

I’ve had learning difficulties since I was a child, I was very hyperactive and found it challenging to sit still in class, to focus when teachers were talking for long periods of time. It wasn’t easy at school but I managed to finish it on my own. It is challenging to get a job and the understanding and help of people with different types of difficulties. The process of creating and working with art gives me the strength to succeed and feel good.

For me overall at ARC Academy there have been no difficulties so far. The teaching is very accessible and visual with practice. In this way it is easy for me to perceive and learn. I try to pick up speed, to improve understanding when the lectures are in English.

What advice would you give to someone who is wondering whether to enroll in ARC?

I would tell them more about the educational process in ARC and I’ll tell them to  give it a try.

If you want to begin your career in the game industry, you can apply for our early bird application session for class 2022/2023 until March 31st.
