Tell us about yourself and what project you are currently working on. If it is for a company, you can mention its name.
After high school, I had a desire to pursue a career in video games. To familiarize myself with the skills needed to enter this industry, I researched a gaming company’s website and looked up job openings. That’s when the concept artist position caught my attention as a good fit for my interests and abilities, so I decided to head in that direction. Nine years later, I’m still pursuing that and furthering my career in the field.

Which projects you have worked on so far you are most proud of, and why?
The “Three Body Problem” project holds a special place in my heart as it was the first show I ever worked on and a positive professional experience.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learned professionally?
When working in the creative field, it’s important to focus more on enjoying the work process and the people you’re collaborating with than how that project will look on your resume. Say “yes” to the strange projects.

Do you have a funny or interesting story about something that happened to you while working?
Knowing our industry, most stories are dark and full of dread!
What would you like to convey to the students – personally and professionally?
On a personal level, it is important not to stress, sometimes too much ambition can be a setback. Professionally, the key is to stay sane during the production.
If you also dream of becoming a part of the game industry, you can start your journey in one of our three distance learning programs – in Game Design, Concept Art or 3D Art. Going through various hands-on assignments, you will learn the key skills needed to create your first video games.
