Polyna Vucheva, lecturer at ARC Academy – on her passion for game development

Polyna Vucheva is an alumni student at ARC Academy and professionally a producer and lecturer in the Foundation in Digital Arts preliminary program. She has been actively involved in digital drawing for 3 years, gaining experience in concept art, environment illustration, and anime/manga styles. She shares that various interests excite her, ranging from science to animations, encompassing all stages and processes involved in creating a video game. Learn what motivates her to immerse herself in this creative world in the interview.
What projects have you worked on so far?
I have worked as an illustrator of characters in manga stylization, in ARC’s student project – Candy Chaos, in roles such as producer, concept artist, and rigger, and am currently working on an MMO RPG game.



What are the most valuable lessons you have learned professionally and during your training at ARC Academy?
With this initial exposure to the gaming world, I learned that in our industry, you can have interests in many areas – from 2D art to production and management! There’s no need to limit yourself, and you’re free to find what suits you best, with people along the way ready to provide invaluable guidance. Professionally, every day involves learning to communicate with people and working with different software.
Do you play for pleasure? What are your favorite games right now?
Games are an integral part of my daily life. They are undoubtedly my greatest passion. Currently, I’m playing Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga, Still Wakes the Deep, Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, and several others.



What motivates you to be a lecturer in the Foundation in Digital Arts preliminary program, and what would you like to impart to your students?
I hope to convey my love for drawing, the digital software, and a comprehensive appreciation for video games and their art.
